Every so often, we chat fashion at Carrots. I hope it feels like going shopping with a friend, but not having to try on jeans….or leave your couch.
Happy Friday! We’re going out of town for the weekend to visit some good friends but before we head out, I wanted to post some fashion fun. Usually it includes my husband Daniel’s always enthused commentary, but this morning, Daniel was milking goats so I asked my seven-year-old to step in as guest photographer and fashion advisor.
Do what? OK. Sure, Mom.
What a darling. Ok so Elizabeth & Clarke sent me a box of their spring collection. (And you can also check out their winter and fall collection.) I’m a fan. Elizabeth & Clarke is basically a subscription service for affordable designer-quality shirts that ships seasonally (every three months). They mostly have basics in neutral colors. And they offer full refunds on everything.
So here goes!
Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Skirt: Stitch Fix, Sandals: Soda from ThredUP, Glasses: c/o Firmoo
Item #1: The Catalina. I’m not big into pastels, but I think I’ll actually have tons of stuff to wear this pale blue/grey top with. This will probably be my go-to summer Mass outfit.
And YES, Instagram fashionista advisors, I DID keep the patterned skirt over the pencil from SF, but more on that another day…
Benjamin’s Take: “I don’t know. I like it! It reminds me of a knight’s suit of armor. You know what I mean, right? With those things on the side?”
Ok, moving on.
Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Pants: c/o Stitch Fix, Glasses: Firmoo, Shoes: Lucky Brand
Item #2: The Holloway Top. The fabrics from Elizabeth & Clarke always feels dreamy and I love the fit of this one. Perfect for tucking into a nice skirt or wearing with casual pants/jeans.
And if you can’t tell, this top is a VERY pale pink.
Benjamin’s Take: “I like it, but I don’t think I like it as much as the other one.”
Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Jeans: Stitch Fix, Glasses: Firmoo, Shoes: Lucky Brand
Item #3: The Edwards Top. I love how simple but unusual this top is. I should probably have styled it with a pencil skirt, but I was feeling the jeans today. It’s like a date night top.
I think this one is just a LEETLE too snug around the middle. If I’d lost the 5 lbs of pumpkin pie weight from Thanksgiving, it would probably fit just right but….alas. Pie. #sorrynotsorry
I do really love the back, though.
Paired with a simple pencil skirt and some heels? Yes, please.
Benjamin’s’s Take: “I think that’s one of my favorites. The back reminds me of a spear.”
Knights and spears. Seven-year-old boys. Got it.
So there you have it folks. What did you think of Elizabeth & Clarke? Be sure to check out their lovely summer collection, too!
And let’s hear it for Benjamin, selfless son of mine! He did great and only cut off my head or feet 90% of the time. Clap clap! He loved it because he got to boss me around. “Stay RIGHT THERE, Mom! OK, now TURN AROUND!”

These are so cute! I love Benjamin’s medieval references 🙂 I think the first one is my favorite, but they all look really awesome on you!

I love this. I’m with Benjamin- the first one is the best. And looks just a tiny bit like armor.

Benjamin is right on!!!

Well, I mean OBVIOUSLY the plain pale pink shirt is not as cool as knight’s armor. OBVIOUSLY. Daniel just might have a run for his money with your new photographer/fashion advisor! 🙂
