Happy Friday from the farm! You can take the ballerina to a farm, but you can’t get her to stop wearing her tutu when she feeds the pigs, amirite?!
It was a red letter week on the farm because two sets of baby piglets were born. Did you catch that? BABY PIGLETS!
Daniel tipped us off when one of the sows went into labor and the kids and I got to watch piglets be born. It was such a cool thing to see! Five of the eight piglets were breech and I FEELING it for the poor mama. It was amazing to see a piglet born and then seconds later wobble over to start nursing. Would it be weird if human babies could walk right after birth? So weird.
We’ve been making lots of new animal friends at the farm. This is Merlin the goat. The goats are everyone’s favorite (except for the baby piglets because oh my gosh the CUTE!).
And we’ve been visiting all of our favorite Waco spots. Here’s Gwen doing her best Dowager Countess impression at the children’s museum.
The crazy unpacking started yesterday after our POD containing all our earthly goods arrived. (Yay!) But there are still boxes EVERYWHERE and it’s making me come unhinged. But I’m glad to have my essential oils diffuser back after 3 months!
And good news, podcast listeners! Christy and I are back after a summer hiatus. You can check out the new Fountains of Carrots episode here.
And this week on the blog I created a new list of books you should read to your daughter (this time inspired by Kathleen Kelly of You’ve Got Mail), talked about why I’m glad I skipped my 20s, and opened up about some major health issues I’ve been battling since this spring.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend (with maybe a hint of fall weather?),
Haley

Oh the piglets! Please tell me the girls are adopting one and naming it Wilbur. What a cool thing for them to experience!
And yay – the podcast is back! My afternoon commute just got a lot brighter!
