How scary is that? This is the before photo of all the stuff I piled in Baby Gwen’s room for my horrible/brilliant idea to have a garage sale this morning. (I’m hiding out inside while Gwen naps and Daniel handles sales.) I decided we should have one Wednesday…which didn’t give us much time. But we are getting rid of SO MUCH STUFF.
Oh and if you’re worried that we’re getting rid of HP DVDs, don’t worry. That’s our EXTRA copy. 😉
I even weeded out our CD collection. This one was a keeper, though:
You know what I’m talking about. Blue Album forever. (But Pinkerton is better.)
On the Bookshelf:
I finished my re-read of Brideshead Revisited. Still my favorite novel. It gets richer every time I read it. I can’t wait to do a post about what I learned from you during the Carrots Classic Book Club discussion of the first part of the book. And after this dang garage sale is over I’ll plan the next meeting!

NFP PSA ASAP: This Ain’t the Lyceum (Kelly is so right. I wish I’d learned NFP when I was still single. Of course, I didn’t know it existed then so….but if only.)
101 Mini Daily Goals, the Summertime Edition: K. Elizabeth Fleck (I am so inspired! I want to create my own. I also want to try harder to go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier now that the kids are sleeping past 6am these days. I could actually have some writing time in the morning!)
The 1 hour homebirth of John Charles: House Unseen, Life Unscripted (My friend Dwija had a SUPER fast amazing delivery at home. If you love birth stories, you’ll get a kick out of this one. Yay sweet baby!)
Slate, you are drunk. Adults should be reading YA: Modern Mrs. Darcy (A good book is a good book is a good book.)

That’s so funny that you mentioned the Harry Potter DVD, because my first thought when I saw the picture was horror that you would get rid of one! We had a yard sale two years ago and while the extra money was nice the whole thing was so exhausting that from now on (or at least until or children are old enough to help) all of our extra stuff is going straight to Goodwill!
Haley says
Haha! yeah….sooooo not getting rid of HP 😉

The blue album was the first one I ever listened to (on repeat, for weeks) as a teenager, so it holds a special place in my heart. It’s a pity about almost everything afterwards.
Haley says
Agreed. I mean, Pinkerton is amazing. The best. I can jam to the green album but it’s definitely not the same caliber and I think it gets more embarrassing from there on out 😉
Wanda says
I hope the sale was successful! Can I hire you to come here? :)))
Haley says
Haha! It went pretty well, Wanda, but it was exhausting! I’m not cut out to be a professional garage sale organizer 😉

I love Weezer. Have you heard their Christmas album? If not you MUST grab a copy (it’s short so it’s cheap) for a special Christmas in July listen.
Hope the yard sale was a smashing success!
(And thanks for the link love!)

We JUST discovered the Christmas album this year and it is truly awesome. The kids jammed out to We Wish You a Merry Christmas a LOT 😉
