Coming up in the Liturgical Year: Feast of the Epiphany this Friday! Planning to say goodbye to Christmastide by putting away the Christmas ornaments with Benjamin and giving the Nativity scene one last hurrah by telling the story of the Wise Men one last time before putting it away. And Daniel will probably read T. S. Eliot’s “Journey of the Magi” aloud for us.
Listening: I finally downloaded Spotify and on Abigail‘s recommendation have been listening to Gungor’s Ghosts Upon the Earth.
A Blog I Follow: Shouting Hallelujah is my good friend Katherine’s tumblr. It’s charming and interesting and full of good things.
Quote: (found on Katherine’s blog. Daniel and Tolkien share a birthday which is fun.)
“We have come from God, and inevitably the myths woven by us, though they contain error, will also reflect a splintered fragment of the true light, the eternal truth that is with God. Indeed only by myth-making, only by becoming ‘sub-creator’ and inventing stories, can Man aspire to the state of perfection that he knew before the Fall. Our myths may be misguided, but they steer however shakily towards the true harbour, while materialistic ‘progress’ leads only to a yawning abyss and the Iron Crown of the power of evil.”
Links: So, I started a tumblr to document Benjamin’s hilarious movie reviews. Here tis: 3ft movie critic
I got to contribute a post to Lovelyish.com where the beautiful Beca edits and writes. It’s about how much I love Jane Austen and how much I hate Matthew McConaughey.
